Marissa graduated Cum Laude from Kent State University with a BS in mathematics and BA in philosophy. She attended law school at The University of Akron School of Law and graduated in December 2009 in the top 25% of her class. While in law school, Marissa was a senior staff member of the law review, made dean’s list, and received the board of trustees’ scholarship.

After passing the February 2010 bar, Marissa started her career protecting parents whose children were taken away by the state. She conducted hundreds of trials in that time becoming a formidable trial attorney.  After that, she worked in a probate civil litigation firm representing abused beneficiaries and victims of financial elder abuse. Marissa then went on to represent bond companies regarding both probate and construction bonds before staring her own firm.

Marissa is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court, and the California Conference of Bar Associations.

Marissa’s hundreds of hours in court representing clients allows her to navigate litigation effectively and advise clients so they may avoid litigation when possible. She has won dozens of trials and excels at achieving client goals.

Larger firms must focus on billable to hours to pay their expenses. However, Walter Legal can focus on bringing clients value for their money. Marissa’s first thought is how to achieve results for clients. All good legal work costs money, but the goal at Walter Legal is that legal fees return tangible results for the client.
